White Tailed Fawn

We received a call from the public about an injured fawn who was stuck in mud and surrounded by brush.  They believed its mom was killed by a car on the road not far from where it was.  The fawn was believed to be without its mom for at least a day.  It was seen struggling to free itself but unable to get out of the mud.  One of our veterinarians immediately met us to assess the fawn.  The fawn was unable to stand on her own for two weeks.  With physical therapy and continuous nursing care, she finally started to stand.  She recovered very well and was transferred to another wildlife rehabilitator with other fawns for her release site.
